'Traffic Lights' is a poem about friendships that need time, rather than friendships that happen quickly. I was walking home from one of my friends' houses and the light from a traffic light caught my eye. So I wrote a poem about them, as well as the traffic light.
For these pieces, I wanted there to be an inky illustration style mixed with a slightly off-kilter sans serif. I painted a bass layer of acrylic paint and then added detail with ink. Then I scanned the art into the printer and started playing with the type.
