The Zipper Poem is both a factual account of the time I broke the zip of my favourite coat accidentally, but also a poem about coming to terms with a quick loss. I wanted a big, unapologetic san serif type to tell the story. In every poster there is something that makes the reader slightly uncomfortable, as I thought that would give the feeling of sudden loss.
In the 1st poster the 'favourite' is falling down, in the 2nd the 'fix' isn't in the same line, in the 3rd there are too many words for the page, which gives an anxious, claustrophobic feeling, in the 4th the third line hangs out further than the others, which makes it almost feel like it's falling and in the last poster everything is all over the place.
