Coloured Paper Posters

This is a series of posters I make when I have an idea that simply must come out somehow. I'll be sitting on the bus twiddling my thumbs and thinking, and I'll eventually start writing some extremely short pros. The posters act as an advertisement to read the caption on Instagram.

The few days after finishing college are bizarre. The fireworks have gone off, and as the sparkling explosion fades away, all that is left is the empty sky. Now what? It feels like me and my peers are unfortunately about to enter a never ending episode of shark tank. When the stress of the final days of college leave, the future makes itself present. When you're swimming forward, trying not looking back, it's important to remember that the sky isn't empty, there's more fireworks going off than you can imagine. Convoluted metaphor. Time for the trial shift.

Recently I have been in a creative rut. I've been doing a lot of thinking and not a lot of making. What better than an old rusty frying pan to represent the feeling of no longer being able to create an outcome. This poster in itself is a way for me to get my head out of the sand and start putting final pieces of media out into the void once again. Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

This poster is about the awkward dance I always seem to end up doing whilst crossing the road. When a car is coming down the road and you think you can get to the other side before it reaches you. When you're about three steps out onto the road and then you realise you'll have to retreat; you judged it incorrectly. There's always a shameful feeling that comes with that; especially if there's other pedestrians besides you. I do this probably once a week; and I wanted to make a poster about this thing that I keep on doing. Cyclical awkward regret.
